What pump sizes are most suitable for each district?

Solar pump size is one key determinant for affordability and sustainability. Promoting the right pump size can help target small and marginal farmers. The tool provides a high-level view of the relative pump size suitability based on the district level data. It does not recommend the exact pump sizes but gives a comparative view between different districts. State administrators can use the tool to strategise pump allocation in government support schemes.

The primary factors that influence pump sizes are the size of landholdings, groundwater level and types of crop cultivated in the district.
